Quality Counts
Quality Counts is 91制片厂视频 Week鈥檚 annual report card grading the nation and the states on their performance in K-12 education.
Since 1997, Quality Counts has provided the critical indicators that educators, policymakers, and the general public need to evaluate strengths and weaknesses in the education systems that serve our nation鈥檚 students.
Beginning in 2018, the report card has been published in three annual installments based on exclusive data from the EdWeek Research Center.
- The January installment features grades on the Chance-for-Success Index.
- In June, the report card examines state-by-state results in school finance.
- The September publication focuses on the K-12 Achievement Index and provides overall grades.
We won鈥檛 be publishing Quality Counts in 2022 due to the pandemic鈥檚 impact on data collection for the federal databases on which the grading relies.

In March 2024, 91制片厂视频 Week announced the end of the Quality Counts report after 25 years of serving as a comprehensive K-12 education scorecard. In response to new challenges and a shifting landscape, we are refocusing our efforts on research and analysis to better serve the K-12 community.
